I JUST NOTICED
Using the galaxy map in Mass Effect 1, when you open up particular star systems with asteroid belts, and just wait, you’ll see a glint of light- and when you click on them, you can get minerals, sometimes those prothean disks.
Like the Tereshkova system located in the Armstrong Nebula:

There’s actually a Carbonaceous asteroid where you can recover a League of One medallion. So has anyone ever noticed this? I just realized this on what, fourth playthrough I think?

I…I’m sorry that you did not know about that on your first playthrough. I must admit, though, that because of it I cannot do a playthrough where I do not do all the side quests.

Well, I’ve played this game over 20 times, and yes I’ve noticed lol. They usually are in asteroid belts, but I think there are one or two just floating around … or that was a ship … you usually always see a glint, but sometimes not.

Yeah! There’s plenty of ‘em around. Just check all of the asteroid belts.
